Inkscape restarted working for me at last. I actually don't know why it worked one month ago and suddenly stopped... maybe some update for Leopard. I'm eager to try new features, thanks.

I get the following error message under osx tiger 10.4.10 intel macbook after i start inkscape from the commandline:

** (inkscape-bin:581): WARNING **: Unknown verb name: FullScreen
Unable to find: FullScreen

starting from dock doesn't work - the inkscape icon disappears after a second or so. this is the whole error message, and my x11 is the one from the tiger cd that i got along with the macbook.

though it should be mentioned that the error appears after the last x11 update sometime end of may/beginning Jun and before the update inkscape worked fine.

maybe there is something that can be done to prevent this behavior?
thanks in advance,
~levon

I'm having the same problem as Patrick.

The first time I launched Inkscape under Panther 10.3.9 it gave a message that it had to build the font cache and it might take a while. Then X11 launched in full screen mode. I get a gray screen in the background and an active terminal window that functions normally, but no Inkscape, no matter how long I wait.

Subsequent launches of Inkscape cause X11 to launch without the Inkscape font cache message, X11 goes full screen, the terminal window opens (and functions normally) but still no Inkscape.

I have several hundred fonts. Could this be a factor? I'm not going to reduce the number of fonts; I need them all. Inkscape should be able to handle them.

Tomaz, the problem is that you are running Tiger but you still have the Panther X11 version rather than the one for tiger. You neeed to upgrade X11 from the "optional installs" section of the tiger install DVD. Also see here.

Patrick, We are aware of this problem and are working on a solution. In the meantime please continue to use 0.44 versions of Inkscape that worked under 10.3.9. See here for progress.

Tried to launch Inkscape 0.45 under 10.3.9 on Mac G3 900Mhz (enhanced). Triggers X11 to launch, appears in dock and Activity Monitor for a couple of seconds and then shuts down. The only message I ever received was the first time I ran the program it informed me it needed to update the font cache and it would take some time. Well, it has taken forever, because it doesn't work. And I'm not the only one suffering this frustration....
